Original: Ph will be a better place without ibos in it Lagos will be a better place without ibos in it Abuja will be a better plac
A statement claiming that Port Harcourt, Lagos, Abuja, Benin and Delta would be better off without Igbo residents is circulating on Nigerian social media, drawing sharp reactions. The remark targets the Igbo ethnic group, whose members live and run businesses across Nigeria's major cities. Critics are condemning the sentiment as ethnic hate speech, while some users echo or contest it, reigniting familiar debates about tribalism and coexistence in the country.
Why now: Ethnic tensions flare periodically on Nigerian social media, and this openly discriminatory claim is provoking anger and debate.
