Ukraine Launches Large-Scale Drone Attack On Russian Energy Sites
Original: Ukraine Launches Large-Scale Drone Attack On Russia, Defies Trump's Demands To Leave Russian Energy Alone
Ukraine has carried out a large-scale drone attack on targets in Russia, including energy infrastructure, despite pressure from US President Donald Trump to stop striking Russian energy facilities. The strike underscores Kyiv's unwillingness to accept limits on its targeting as Washington pushes for negotiations, and it is likely to add friction to already strained US-Ukraine relations.
Why now: Ukraine directly disregarded a public demand from Trump at a sensitive moment in US-brokered peace efforts.
