Israeli settlers attacked a delegation of EU diplomats in the occupied West Bank as the group was visiting Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. The incident, reported by Al Jazeera, has drawn attention to rising settler violence against Palestinians and to the risks faced by international officials travelling in the area. The diplomats were in the region to observe harvest conditions, which have become increasingly tense.
Why now: Attacks on EU diplomats by settlers are a serious escalation likely to provoke diplomatic responses and intensify debate over settler violence in the West Bank.
