Meta pulls No Kings Instagram page amid anti-Trump protests

Original: meta

Meta removed the Instagram account of No Kings, the group behind large anti-Trump protests, then restored it, attributing the takedown to an error. The removal came as protests were underway, prompting accusations of censorship and renewed scrutiny of how the company moderates politically sensitive content in the United States.

Why now: The coincidence of the takedown with major anti-Trump protests raised suspicion that Meta was suppressing political speech, even though the company blamed a mistake.
