Inktober 2026 artists tackle Lovecraft's Antarctic flightless birds

Original: INKTOBER 2026 — FLIGHTLESS / SANS AILES Au-delà des terres connues, dans les étendues glacées de l’Antarctique, De grand

An artist has shared an Inktober 2026 piece themed 'Flightless' (Sans Ailes), depicting grotesque giant penguins among the ruins of a forgotten civilization in Antarctica. The work is an homage to H. P. Lovecraft's novella At the Mountains of Madness and its enormous flightless birds. It is drawing attention from art and horror fans following the yearly October drawing challenge.

Why now: Inktober 2026 is underway and creators are sharing daily prompt drawings, with horror-themed entries resonating with fans of Lovecraft.
