Trump Targets Ilhan Omar as Critics Slam Media Silence
Original: Trump Is Targeting # IlhanOmar . Where’s the Elite Media Outrage? Unlike the raid on John Bolton, the targeting of Omar
President Trump is facing accusations of politically targeting Representative Ilhan Omar, prompting a complaint that major outlets including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post have stayed silent. Critics contrast the muted response with heavy coverage of the raid on John Bolton's home, arguing elite media apply a double standard to scrutiny of the president's political opponents.
Why now: A new raid or investigation involving Omar has revived debate over media double standards in covering Trump's actions against political opponents.
