Residents of displacement camps have organized a sit-in to draw attention to the dire humanitarian situation and harsh living conditions they face in tents. Organizers say women and children are particularly vulnerable as winter approaches, with inadequate shelter, food and medical care. They are appealing for urgent international aid and donations to help families survive the coming cold months.

Why now: People are highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis in displacement camps as winter nears.
