Israeli forces called war crimes suspects by critics
Original: # IOF are # WarCrimes suspects. # Israel # IDF # Palestine # ChrisSidoti
Critics are labelling the Israel Defense Forces 'war crimes suspects' in posts referencing Palestine, with some tagging Chris Sidoti, the Australian human rights lawyer who serves on the United Nations Commission of Inquiry into the conflict. The posts reflect ongoing accusations that Israeli military conduct in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories amounts to war crimes, a claim Israel rejects, saying it acts in self-defence and follows international law.
Why now: Ongoing conflict in Gaza keeps war crimes allegations against the Israeli military a widely discussed topic.
