Peace movement revival seen as easier now than ever

Original: # USA # US But actually this is the perfect moment for a revival of the peace movement—because it’s easier now than ever

Commentators in the United States argue that now is the ideal moment to revive the peace movement, because it is easier than ever to imagine a rapid transition to a more peaceful world. Their reasoning centres on the sudden availability of alternatives to oil, arguing that reducing dependence on oil could undercut the conflicts and power structures built around it.

Why now: Ongoing global conflicts and the rise of oil alternatives have prompted debate about whether renewable energy could enable a more peaceful world.
