Original: 18 tons of PPE stockpiled from Obama's #Pandemic response was sent 2 #China #XiJinping by #Trump when we needed it most
A claim circulating online says the Trump administration shipped 18 tons of personal protective equipment, stockpiled under the Obama administration's pandemic preparedness, to China under Xi Jinping just as the US faced shortages during the Covid-19 crisis. Posts also allege Ivanka Trump obtained trademarks for voting machines, body bags and caskets from China around the same time, drawing anger over risks to first responders and hospital staff.
Why now: Anger and recriminations over Covid-era PPE shortages and Trump administration decisions are being recirculated amid ongoing political debate.
