Tom Hiddleston scales crevasse for Tenzing biopic

Original: tenzing norgay

Actor Tom Hiddleston, who plays Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay in the new biographical film 'Tenzing', really climbed out of a crevasse during filming rather than relying entirely on effects, according to Climbing Magazine. The detail is drawing attention to the film's physical authenticity and renewed interest in Norgay, who made the first ascent of Everest with Edmund Hillary in 1953.

Why now: The film about Everest pioneer Tenzing Norgay is newly in the spotlight as publicity highlights its demanding, realistic climbing scenes.
