Claim circulating that most Indian degrees in America are fake
Original: “36,025 fake degrees sold while awarding only 5,455 real ones” That means that ~85% of all Indians in America have fraud
A widely shared claim states that 36,025 fake degrees were sold while only 5,455 real ones were awarded, concluding that roughly 85% of Indians in America hold fraudulent degrees. The figures are being circulated without sourcing or verification, and the leap from raw numbers to a claim about the entire Indian population in the US is statistically unfounded. Discussion online reflects debate over immigration vetting and credential fraud.
Why now: The claim ties into heated ongoing debate about immigration and credential fraud involving Indian nationals in the US.
