Patriot marches in Milan amid migration unrest
Original: Italian patriots take to the streets of Milan to defend Italy from migrant looters and rioters... The police and the arm
Demonstrations took place in Milan by groups calling themselves Italian patriots, who said they were acting to defend the country against migrant looters and rioters. Commentary around the marches argues that maintaining order should be the job of the police and the army rather than civilians, reflecting broader tension in Italy over migration and public order.
Why now: Migration-related unrest in Italy has sparked civilian street mobilisation and debate over whether police and the army should be handling it.
