Forager shows off four freshly picked red-capped boletes

Original: Gerade gesammelt sind diese 4 delikaten Rotkappen (Leccinum aurantiacum) zutreffenderweise nur als ital. •il quartetto•

A mushroom hunter in Germany has found four red-capped boletes (Leccinum aurantiacum) on a single outing and shared photos of the haul, jokingly dubbing the group 'il quartetto' in Italian since the German word for a quartet usually refers to musicians. The find is part of a mushroom-themed photo prompt doing the rounds among nature and foraging enthusiasts.

Why now: Mushroom season is in full swing and foragers are sharing their finds under seasonal photo prompts.
