ABC's Top 100 Aussie Books Countdown Sparks Debate

Original: abc

Australia's ABC is drawing attention for two reasons: its Top 100 Aussie Books Countdown, which readers have criticised for leaving out iconic Australian novels, and new ABC Kids resources helping early childhood educators teach media literacy through play. The book countdown is generating the most discussion, with commentators arguing several beloved classics deserved a place on the list.

Why now: The ABC's Top 100 Aussie Books Countdown has just been released and its omissions are prompting public debate about what counts as iconic Australian literature.
