Original: Formula 1 News: Alonso spotted Dakar testing after denying 2027 plan
Fernando Alonso has been seen testing for the Dakar Rally shortly after denying reports that he plans to compete in the 2027 edition. The Spanish two-time Formula 1 champion, who races for Aston Martin and has previously entered the Dakar, is again fuelling speculation about his off-season rally raid ambitions despite his public denial.
Why now: The contradiction between his denial and the testing sighting has revived speculation about his future plans.
