MiniMax quietly launches M3.1-Flash model after mystery teasers
Original: MiniMax quietly launches M3.1-Flash after weeks as a mystery Space Bunny model
Chinese AI startup MiniMax has released M3.1-Flash, a new model that had circulated for weeks under the codename Space Bunny before its official unveiling. The quiet launch, without a promotional event, follows the pattern of stealth testing that AI labs increasingly use to benchmark unreleased models. The release adds to competition in the fast-moving market for efficient, low-cost AI models.
Why now: The mystery codename and low-key release from a major AI startup are drawing attention amid intense AI model competition.
