Heavy rain alerts are in force across much of India as cyclonic systems hit both coastlines. Cyclone Murasu has caused damage in Andhra Pradesh, with heavy rains also affecting Sukma in Chhattisgarh, where Diwali shopping and firecracker trade have been disrupted. The IMD has warned of intense showers and winds up to 60 kmph from Bihar and Chhattisgarh to Haryana and Punjab, with alerts covering ten states. A new system is also forming in the Arabian Sea alongside the Bay of Bengal disturbance.
