The Indianapolis Colts have dismissed general manager Chris Ballard, bringing an end to his decade-long run leading the franchise's football operations. Ballard's tenure produced just two playoff appearances and a single postseason victory, and the team has struggled to find stability at quarterback. The move signals owner Jim Irsay is seeking a new direction as the Colts look to rebuild their roster and return to contention.

Why now: The firing is a major front-office shakeup for a struggling NFL franchise, drawing wide attention from fans and sports media.
