Goats clear invasive plants for new secret garden park
Original: Grazing goats clear invasive plants for new ‘secret garden’ park project
Arlington is using grazing goats to clear invasive plants as part of preparations for a new 'secret garden' park project. The animals are being deployed as an eco-friendly alternative to herbicides or machinery, eating through dense vegetation to prepare the site. The unusual approach has drawn local attention as the project takes shape.
Why now: The use of goats instead of conventional clearing methods is a novel, environmentally friendly approach to park development.
