Original: United States Welcomes Uzbekistan’s Signing of the Artemis Accords

The United States has welcomed Uzbekistan's decision to sign the Artemis Accords, the US-led framework establishing principles for peaceful cooperation in lunar and deep space exploration. The State Department announced its approval of the Central Asian nation joining the agreement, which now includes a growing list of countries committing to transparency, interoperability and responsible conduct in space activities.

Why now: Uzbekistan's accession expands the international coalition behind NASA's Artemis lunar programme, a notable diplomatic gain for US space policy in Central Asia.
