German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt of the CSU is facing sharp criticism, with accusations that he is acting as a 'spiritual arsonist' by stirring sentiment against left-wingers and migrants while investigations are ongoing. Commentators call the rhetoric from the Union shameful and ask how threatened the party feels, describing the behaviour as unworthy of an interior minister.

Why now: Dobrindt is publicly attacking left-wing and migrant groups while investigations are still underway, provoking outrage on social media.
