SEIU Local 1000 prepares for historic strike
SEIU Local 1000, the union representing tens of thousands of California state employees, is preparing for what members describe as a historic strike. The union has signaled it is readying workers for major job action, and coverage of the preparations is drawing attention across California. Details on timing and demands remain limited as talks between the union and the state continue.
Why now: A large public-sector union openly preparing a strike would disrupt California state services and touches on ongoing labor tensions over pay and conditions.
