Homebrew Developer Adds PS2 Disc Support to Jailbroken PS5
Original: Homebrew Dev Brings PS2 Disc Support to Jailbroken PS5s
A homebrew developer has enabled PlayStation 2 disc support on jailbroken PlayStation 5 consoles, according to a report by Gadget Review. The work would let modified consoles read and run PS2 discs directly, expanding the machine's backwards compatibility beyond Sony's official offerings. The development is drawing attention from console hacking and emulation enthusiasts.
Why now: Backwards compatibility hacks are a major draw for the console hacking community, and official PS5 support for PS2 discs does not exist.
