Fermilab's quantum center marks six years of research

Original: Six years of SQMS: asking what limits quantum systems and building the answers

The Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems Center, hosted by Fermilab, is marking its sixth anniversary. The center studies what limits quantum systems, including decoherence and material defects in superconducting qubits, and works on engineering solutions to extend quantum computer performance. The milestone highlights its progress toward building more reliable quantum machines.

Why now: The SQMS Center's six-year anniversary prompted renewed attention to its quantum computing research.
