Reporters Without Borders Builds Press-Freedom Library in Minecraft
Original: Reporters Without Borders Built a Press-Freedom Library Inside Minecraft
Reporters Without Borders has created a virtual library inside Minecraft containing censored journalism from countries where the press is restricted. The Uncensored Library allows players, including young audiences in authoritarian states, to access banned articles within the popular game. The project highlights ongoing global press-freedom concerns and creative ways to circumvent censorship.
Why now: The novel use of a hugely popular video game to bypass government censorship and deliver banned journalism is drawing wide attention.
