World Faces Nature Reality Check at UN Biodiversity Conference

Original: cbd

Delegates are gathering at the UN biodiversity conference, held under the Convention on Biological Diversity, for what Reuters calls a nature reality check. Talks centre on how countries will fund and deliver the pledge, made in Montreal in 2022, to protect 30% of land and oceans by 2030, with progress so far seen as slow and financing disputes unresolved.

Why now: The UN biodiversity summit is under way and coverage is highlighting the gap between nature pledges and actual delivery.
