Report urges Andy Burnham to back reversing Brexit
Original: Ditch Brexit to face challenges from Russia, China and the US, Andy Burnham urged by new report https:// fed.brid.gy/r/h
A new report is urging Manchester mayor Andy Burnham to call for Britain to ditch Brexit, arguing the UK is better placed to face challenges from Russia, China and the United States as part of the European Union. The intervention, reported by the Evening Standard, puts rejoining the EU back on the political agenda and pressures a leading Labour figure seen as a potential future party leader to take a clearer position on Europe.
Why now: A fresh report reignites debate over Brexit and Europe's security just as Britain weighs its response to Russia, China and the US.
