Ukraine claims first drone evacuation of wounded soldier
Ukraine says it has carried out the first-ever evacuation of a wounded soldier from the frontlines using a drone, a hexacopter. If confirmed, it would mark a new use of unmanned aircraft in battlefield medicine, removing casualties from areas too dangerous for ground vehicles or helicopters. The claim is drawing attention as drones increasingly shape combat and logistics in the war.
Why now: It highlights an unprecedented use of drone technology in battlefield medical evacuation during the Ukraine war.
