Suspect in Mall of America bomb plot to stay jailed
Original: Man charged in thwarted Mall of America terrorism attack kept in jail ahead of trial
A man charged in connection with a thwarted terrorism plot targeting the Mall of America in Minnesota will remain in custody while awaiting trial, a court has decided. The ruling keeps the suspect behind bars ahead of proceedings, and coverage of the decision is drawing attention to the failed attack at one of the largest shopping centres in the United States.
Why now: A court decision on pretrial detention in a high-profile foiled terrorism plot is newsworthy and of public concern.
