Fatal crash and riot warnings put Piacenza on edge
Original: piacenza
Piacenza is in the news for two reasons: a fatal road accident claimed the life of a 22-year-old man from Belgioioso, and authorities are on alert over chat messages threatening public disorder in the city on 24 October. Local schools have imposed restrictions, and the city council is urging people to report the messages to the prefecture and police forces.
Why now: Locals are reacting to the combination of a deadly accident and spreading threats of riots scheduled for 24 October.
