Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha warned that a proposed summit between Russia, China and the United States would encourage President Vladimir Putin to prolong the war in Ukraine. The warning came after the Wall Street Journal reported Putin's proposal for such a meeting. Kyiv fears the three-power talks could come at Ukraine's expense and embolden Moscow rather than end the fighting.

Why now: Putin has reportedly proposed a Russia-China-US summit, raising fears in Kyiv that decisions about the war could be made without Ukraine.
