Trump open to trilateral summit with Putin and Xi on nuclear arms

Original: Trump open to Putin, Xi trilateral summit but would focus on nuclear arms

US President Donald Trump says he is open to holding a trilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, but says the focus of any such meeting would be on nuclear arms control. The proposal would bring together the leaders of the three largest nuclear powers, raising questions about whether serious arms reduction talks could be revived amid strained US relations with both Moscow and Beijing.

Why now: The idea of the three nuclear superpowers' leaders meeting to discuss arms control is a major potential shift in global diplomacy.
