AI Careers May Start with Humanities Degrees, College Argues
Original: Seeking an AI Career? Study Spanish or Political Science
Davidson College is arguing that students aiming for careers in artificial intelligence should consider studying subjects like Spanish or political science rather than only technical fields. The claim suggests that language, culture and political understanding are increasingly valuable for work with AI systems and their social impact, challenging the assumption that computer science alone leads to jobs in the field.
Why now: Students and educators are actively debating which degrees prepare people for the fast-changing AI job market.
