JAXA launches MMX mission to Mars
Japan's space agency JAXA has launched its Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission to Mars. The probe aims to visit the Martian moon Phobos, collect surface samples, and return them to Earth, making it one of the most ambitious planetary science missions attempted to date. Scientists hope the samples will clarify the origin of Mars's moons and the early solar system.
