Original: # song # music # art Can music help tackle the climate crisis? Chris Hutchings, composer and MU Climate Emergency Action

Composer Chris Hutchings, a member of the Musicians' Union Climate Emergency Action Group, argues that music and song can play a real role in tackling the climate crisis. Writing for the union, he explores how songs can inspire action, build community, and help people realise they are part of a much wider movement for change.

Why now: The Musicians' Union has just published Hutchings' piece on music's role in climate activism, prompting discussion among musicians and campaigners.
