A new piece examines how open-source intelligence analysts build a picture of a creator's online persona, drawing on OSINT methods, cybersecurity practice and cyberpsychology. The author links persona analysis to digital investigations and cybercrime work, arguing that understanding how people present themselves online is now central to identifying threat actors and assessing online behaviour across tech platforms.
Why now: Growing use of OSINT techniques in cybersecurity and cybercrime investigations is driving interest in how analysts profile online identities.
