A close-up macro photograph of a seven-spotted ladybird is drawing attention from nature photography enthusiasts. The shot shows that what looks like a smooth red shell to the naked eye actually has a surprisingly detailed surface texture when seen up close. It was shared as part of the weekly Texture Tuesday theme, where photographers post images highlighting interesting surface details, and viewers are responding to the unexpected intricacy of a familiar garden insect.
Why now: Nature photographers are sharing striking close-up images for the recurring Texture Tuesday hashtag, and this ladybird's unexpected shell texture stood out.
