Hunter Schafer Wants to Make a Trans Girl Rom-Com
Actor and model Hunter Schafer says she wants to make a romantic comedy centred on a trans girl. The 'Euphoria' star, who is herself a prominent trans woman, has spoken about wanting to see more joyful, everyday stories about trans characters rather than only dramas focused on struggle. The idea is drawing attention as conversation grows about trans representation in mainstream film.
Why now: Schafer's comment taps into ongoing debate about how trans people are portrayed in film and entertainment.
