Steven Guilbeault urges climate action despite global crises
Original: Do not be distracted by global crises. Nature cannot wait for a better year – we must act now | Steven Guilbeault https:
Steven Guilbeault, writing in the Guardian, argues that mounting global crises should not distract governments from protecting nature, warning the environment cannot wait for a better political moment. He calls for immediate action on biodiversity and climate, making the case that delaying environmental commitments will carry greater costs in the long run.
Why now: An op-ed by Canada's environment minister pushing back against deprioritising nature policy amid competing global emergencies.
