#EndSARS Trending Again Amid Renewed Police Reform Calls
Original: #EndSARS
The hashtag #EndSARS, the rallying call against police brutality in Nigeria that led to mass protests and the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in 2020, is circulating widely again. People are using it to demand accountability for abuses and justice for victims, renewing debate over whether promised police reforms were ever delivered.
Why now: Renewed attention to police brutality or an anniversary of the 2020 protests is driving Nigerians and supporters worldwide to revive the hashtag.
