Judi Dench calls Cats film a waste of talent

Original: Judi Dench brands Cats movie 'a waste of goodwill and talent'

Dame Judi Dench has publicly criticised the 2019 film adaptation of the musical Cats, describing it as 'a waste of goodwill and talent'. Dench, who played Old Deuteronomy in the movie, is among several cast members to have spoken negatively about the poorly received film. Her comments have reignited discussion about one of Hollywood's most notorious recent box office and critical failures.

Why now: A respected veteran actress openly disparaging her own high-profile film is striking and newsworthy.
