Houthis claim to have shot down a Eurofighter over Saudi Arabia

Original: eurofighter typhoon

Yemen's Houthi movement says it shot down a Eurofighter Typhoon jet over Saudi Arabia. A German report notes that an expert doubts the claim of a hit, and there is no confirmed evidence so far. The claim is drawing attention in Germany and the Netherlands, where the Eurofighter is in service.

Why now: A combat claim involving a Western-built fighter jet over Saudi Arabia is drawing scrutiny, especially in European countries that operate the aircraft.
