Solar grazing reshapes the farmland solar debate
Original: The rapidly growing business of solar grazing Sort of spikes the "But Farming…" opposition to land based solar generatio
Solar grazing, the practice of using sheep to maintain vegetation at solar farms, is growing into a significant agricultural business in the United States. The trend undercuts a common argument against land-based solar projects, that panels take farmland out of productive use, since grazing continues on the same ground. Observers see it as a practical model aligning farmers and renewable energy developers.
Why now: It offers a fresh answer to the most common objection to solar farms on agricultural land.
