Amy Acton, the 'mother' figure of Ohio's pandemic response, back in focus
Original: amy acton mother
Amy Acton, the former Ohio health director who became a household name leading the state's early COVID-19 response, is being searched alongside the word 'mother'. During the pandemic she was widely seen as a maternal, reassuring presence, famously referencing Dr. Seuss and her own children in briefings. She is now a Democratic candidate for Ohio governor, drawing renewed attention to her public image and family background.
Why now: Renewed interest in Acton's gubernatorial campaign is reviving discussion of her pandemic-era persona and family story
