Invasive species blamed for killing park ducks in the UK
Original: As families head to the park to feed the ducks, invaders are killing them. Nothing behind the eyes. Get them all out! #N
Families feeding ducks at UK parks are being told that invasive species are killing the birds. A widely shared post on X describes the invaders as having 'nothing behind the eyes' and calls for them to be removed, echoing earlier campaigns against species such as American mink, which have devastated waterfowl populations in Britain. The inflammatory framing has drawn both support and pushback online.
Why now: Frustration over invasive predators threatening UK waterfowl is being amplified with inflammatory language.
