Former British Army chief warns of UK food security threat

Original: Oh hey, a food security task force. Give 'em each an allotment and some seeds >> Ex British Army chief issues urgent UK

A former head of the British Army has issued an urgent warning about food prices and a major threat to Britain's food supply, tied to climate and nature risks. A new Climate and Nature Security Taskforce has held its first meeting, billed as the most significant of its kind. Commentary online is sceptical, with suggestions that practical measures like allotments and seeds would do more good than another committee.

Why now: The launch of a climate and food security task force and warnings over rising food prices are drawing attention and scepticism.
