Reports are circulating that Russian soldiers are returning home from the war in Ukraine, and the reaction among people is fear rather than relief. The concern centres on the behaviour and psychological state of combat veterans rejoining civilian life, a recurring worry in communities receiving soldiers back from the front. Commenters are sharing and debating these warnings about what the homecoming means for public safety.
Why now: Fresh reporting on demobilised Russian soldiers returning from Ukraine is raising alarm about veteran violence and public safety.
