El Salvador has announced plans to add 400 MW of solar power capacity alongside 1 GWh of battery storage, according to pv magazine. The move is part of the country's push to expand renewable energy and reduce reliance on other sources. It would mark one of the larger energy storage commitments in Central America, drawing attention from clean energy observers.
Why now: Large-scale solar and battery commitments in Central America are relatively rare, making the announcement notable for energy sector watchers.
