CEPA fellow proposes Nordic defence fund worth billions
Original: CEPA fellow suggests the other Nordic countries should pony up a billion € per year for a decade to a defence fund used
A fellow at the Centre for European Policy Analysis has suggested that the Nordic countries besides Finland should contribute one billion euros per year for a decade to a defence fund that Finland would use. Commenters note the money could alternatively fund a Finnish nuclear deterrent, which some argue might be more cost-effective than conventional defence spending.
Why now: The proposal touches on Nordic defence cooperation and nuclear deterrence debates that have intensified with regional security concerns.
